We participated as a “Gold Sponsor” in the Azerbaijan Arbitration Days 2025 event organized by the Baku Arbitration Centre.

We were delighted to be a “Gold Sponsor” at the Azerbaijan Arbitration Days 2025 event organized by the Baku Arbitration Center. We participated in this important event, which addressed regional cooperation in the field of arbitration and the role of law on a global scale, with our young and dynamic team.

Elif Sevüktekin, one of our founding attorneys, shared her legal and regional assessments in her panel discussion on the Middle Corridor. In her speech, Sevüktekin evaluated the strategic role of Turkey and Azerbaijan in regional logistics and trade networks, as well as the legal opportunities offered by the Middle Corridor in terms of international arbitration, investment law, and contract regulations.

The Middle Corridor, stretching from China through Central Asia, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, and Turkey to Europe, is not only a new trade and logistics route but also one of the cornerstones of regional legal integration. Increasing investment activity along this route makes the security of cross-border contracts and the effectiveness of arbitration mechanisms more important than ever. Given the involvement of parties from different countries and multimodal transportation systems in investments within the Middle Corridor, a regional logistics-trade axis, the arbitration system has become a critical dispute resolution tool, particularly in the area of cross-border investment and contractual relations.

In her speech, Elif Sevüktekin emphasized that the Middle Corridor offers a strategic opportunity for regional cooperation and sustainable trade in terms of strengthening international arbitration systems, protecting investor rights, and standardizing contract infrastructure.

Also on the panel, Henri de Dampierre from our Paris office shared his valuable insights on international disputes in the oil and gas sector, the importance of arbitration mechanisms in energy investments, and the role of arbitration in regional trade agreements. We thank Henri de Dampierre, who, with over 30 years of experience in international arbitration, has always been a source of inspiration for our team with his knowledge and vision.
At Sevüktekin Law, we attach the utmost importance to contributing to the development of the legal and economic relations of our sister country, Azerbaijan. It was an honor for us to be part of the Azerbaijan Arbitration Days and to support the opening of the Baku Arbitration Center as a gold sponsor. With this beginning, we will continue to be part of the efforts to spread the culture of international arbitration in the region.
