The legal journey of Sevüktekin Law traces back to the early years of the Republic.
The late Attorney Abdurrahman Şerafettin Sevüktekin, one of the first-generation lawyers of our young Republic, graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1945 and began his career as a military judge.
Serving as a Judge Captain, Abdurrahman Sevüktekin joined the Korean War in 1950–1951. Having survived the Kunu-Ri siege, he returned as a veteran and, in 1954, commenced his legal practice as Treasury Counsel.
Upholding a family legacy of service to the state, Sevüktekin remained in office until 1973, and upon retirement, established his own practice in the legal profession.
Following his retirement, he continued to practice independently until his passing in 1989
Continuing the family legacy, Attorney Figen Sevüktekin—second-generation representative of Sevüktekin Law—graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1971 and went on to serve as Treasury Counsel from 1974 until her retirement in 1998.
Following her retirement, Figen Sevüktekin founded her own office and built a distinguished career in administrative law, enforcement and bankruptcy, real estate, and mining law. Having completed 54 years in the profession, she still practices actively and serves as the founder and honorary chair of our Firm, offering invaluable guidance through her extensive experience.
Attorney Elif Sevüktekin, the third-generation representative of Sevüktekin Law, graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 2004 and went on to complete her LL.M. in International Commercial Law at the University of Leicester in the UK.
Upon her return to Türkiye, she worked at various international law firms and, since 2013, has carried on the family’s three-generation legacy through Sevüktekin Law.
